Is Windows 8 Just a Pretty Face? I’m Not Touched
OS pundits are ogling Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 that is apparently as gorgeous as it is touched:
Maybe Microsoft is ahead of the curve here by combining desktop and touch into one operating system for all devices spanning desktops to tablets. It will probably want to keep its desktop and phone operating systems separate for a while, but even those over time will look more and more alike. Windows 8 already borrows some cues from Windows Phone 7, which is also tile-based and fairly elegant. Source.
Personally I can’t see a touch interface making any sense for the desktop. It’s not like you are hunched over a phone or tablet looking down. Sitting at a desk, having to reach over and touch a screen does not appeal to me from a comfort/ergonomic standpoint.
What about you?
