Wills for Bloggers, Pass it On Before You Pass On

Much to my demise chagrin I realized today that I have not yet made preparations to pass on my literary work should the good Lord take me to that great blog in the sky.

I came across an interesting post by Wyrdsmiths who references another post by the late great Miss Snark. (Don’t worry she’s still alive but has sadly retired from . Be sure to read the comments at the end of the post, especially the one about designating an executor.)

Miss Snark posts about another Neil Gaiman who got a lawyer friend to draw up a simple will for writers. It’s available for free in PDF format and you can download the will here.

Note: You should have your own lawyer look it over to make certain it is valid in your jurisdiction.

Literary wills might not be for everyone, but for serious writers/bloggers it’s certainly worth considering.

  1. Hey Bloke. Interesting post about Blog Wills. I never knew there was such a thing. By the way, I found this post via the BlogRush widget on my site :)

  2. Excellent! So far today I count about 6 hits from the widget. Not a lot but at least it’s working.

  3. Btw, when adding a comment use the “other” option and put in your blog address so you will benefit from the backlinks. There’s no sense in giving your blogger profile all the google juice.

  4. […] I have already posted about making a will for your blog and you might want to read that if you haven’t […]
