Why Write a Blog?
Rich Ord poses the question “Why Write a Blog?” This is my response:
Your question should not be “why write a blog”? You ought to be asking “Why Not Write a Blog”?
You pose an interesting conundrum. Most bloggers start writing for self expression and to be heard above the noise. Whilst a few of us vie to become acknowledged experts in our chosen field.
I agree wholeheartedly that we should be writing with our readers foremost in mind. It is not unlike any other form of entertainment or information source. If we are providing something that fills a void, and if we are any good at doing it the “notoriety” will come.
For those of us who are what I call “pure” bloggers and couldn’t care less about pagerank or statistics, I take my hat off to you all. You are the salt of the blogosphere.
