LinkBait: Is It Good or Bad?
Matt Cutts from Google shares with us what he considers is a good example of whitehat linkbait. Those of you who read me regularly probably know that I’m not a fan of the term “linkbait” because it has negative connotations and become a much abused technique. Even if it is so-called whitehat linkbait many content curators abuse this technique to leverage off the hard work of original content creators. Which is very bad in my opinion.
What do I think is blackhat linkbait? Well for example writing a title that isn’t relevant to the post topic. Of course that is just an extreme example and there is a lot of controversial gray area in between.
What do you think? Is linkbait good or bad .. or both?
