Welcome to the Blogosphere
London Free Press takes a shot at the blogosphere:
“Try as we might, it’s becoming difficult to ignore. Call it an electronic journal. Call it amateur journalism. Call it citizen dialogue in action — it’s occuring with exponential frequency on the internet…”
“It has opened the world of journalism, especially the often not-so-subtle art of column writing, to anyone with a keyboard who has grown tired of ranting to a bartender (or maybe the bartenders have finally grown tired of them?)…”
“Bloggers may have raised the first questions about the Dan Rather scandal, but they didn’t finish the job. Because of the medium and because of their nature, bloggers may raise issues first, but they are not necessarily trustworthy.”
Yeah right. Bloggers are no less “trustworthy” or “amateur” than CBS’ credibility right now. But what the hey, it’s still nice to be noticed. Even if it is by a highbrowed snob. Cheers Dan
