Watch Out Google, Yahoo Just Got Smarter

Yahoo announced today a new set of search tools that it claims will make it’s search engine even more intuitive.

I know that we all like to love Google, but in some ways I hope Yahoo will take over the number one spot. Why? Because Yahoo likes me better than Google does. Try as I may to tweak my site for Google, for some reason Yahoo gives me a better rank. For example take a look here at Yahoo. Notice Who’s number one? Now take a look at Google.See what I mean? I optimize my blog for Google and I get better results with Yahoo. Go figure.

Then again my approach to optimizing my blog is a little more traditional than some. No black hat stuff for me thanks, no advice from John Chow and his ilk, no purchasing links, and no gaming Google.

So that must be the answer. Yahoo is probably a more fair representation of what my blog is really worth because it’s not being gamed like Google is. Go Yahoo!

I think all this underhanded SEO crapola has ruined it for the majority of us who are trying to blog the honest way. A few rotten apple idiots who are exploiting the system at our expense.

Everywhere I look I see unscrupulous reprobates who are just looking for the fast buck. It’s not hard to find them. They flourish everywhere, opportunist sages promising wealth and fortune to their wannabee disciples.

But it is us, the vast majority of the bloggers out there who are suffering the consequences of their actions. They make me sick.

So my advice is to forget about pagerank and SEO. Like Sublimely said (paraphrased), just blog for yourself and produce the best content that you can.

Blog for the shere joy of it.

    1. I absolutely agree with you. I too am getting better results from Yahoo lately.

Although, Google is still God(ess), as it is the most popular !

    2. Yeah, if Google won’t do something about these SEO shysters then maybe some serious competition from Yahoo will force them. The system really needs a good shaking up. I think I will make Yahoo my dominant search engine on my browser from now on.

    3. I noticed that too. Yahoo indexed my site without me notifying them almost within days of it going live. I only finally got into Google there at the start of last week! That was after submitting my url; I don’t know if that speeded up things at all.

    4. Good, that’s two more affirmatives. At least I know now that it’s not just my overactive imagination :)

    5. Nice. I agree with you.

Personally, I use the ‘wishful thinking’ approach - lol

    6. That’s three affirmatives now! We should get a Yahoo meme going.
