Man that first tip hits across the bow of so many, including myself. I found myself so overwhelmed with so many at once I took all my links down. I’ll re-advertise one at a time, as I get into each one fully.

I am pleased with the friends I have made with my blog but the time it takes to maintain a “social site”, like a blog or Facebook, etc., is in-fricking-credible! and then there’s Twitter…. just too many places to “connect”. Get back to basics and connect with a real letter to a real friend.
What a novel idea (since everyone is in cyberspace now)!
Social network marketing just means “I have something to sell you” or I have more time than friends, and since I don’t, I don’t bother cultivating too many virtual “friends”.
I do love You, Bloke, and happy you have kept up the good work with teaching others about blogging… while maintaining balance in the other areas of your personal life. Pura Vida -t

@Tica Macha (Teri), you hit some really good points Teri. How much is enough? It seems like there’s a new social network every other day.

This is great. I do videos for people who want to start a Wordpress blog and then slowly and thoughtfully, tie their own personally appealing social networks to the blog and to one another.
Instead of “marketing,” I’ve found that everyone has something that they are good at and it can be used to bring value to the communities in which they are active.
Social media marketing is not a quick fix and it’s not an advertising platform either. The key is to join the conversation, achieve trust with the community, and then they will likely follow your profile links to other places (like your blog, perhaps) where you may have some sort of next step toward monetization.
That way, you aren’t selling in an atmosphere where no one wants to be sold. It’s their own idea and you have given them valuable insight along the way toward some sort of business decision or purchase and therefore, they have no reservations toward buying from you or working with you. You’ve already proven they mean more to you as part of a community than as a number or sale.

I personally think, videos are a more appealing to people because of the visual effect it gives. It personifies the speaker and people can feel the feelings through the demeanor. I like video marketing more than anything else.

#3 is a great tip. A site should not only be complete from a design standpoint; it should also have plenty of content. If you’re linking to a blog, it’s a good idea to have at least 50 posts before you start promoting it through social media (or any other strategy, for that matter).
Excellent video - I look forward to seeing more!

Excellent information, I really enjoyed this video, you have my compliments. I dont say that very much. I like where you were going with this, I think most people feel as David feels as being very overwelhmed with everything. It takes a good bit of organization and dedication to run an effective social networking market plan.
