Twitter Search Engines: Come Get Yours

Heck, I’m too Busy Twittering to Blog Anymore!

Jeese Louise! I guess I was right after all, that the infatuation with Twitter is really due to its simplicity. There’s no need for any writing skills, grammar or punctuation. It’s back to high school again and good ole short-form note making.

This is so easy! No wonder the a-listers love it. It’s the perfect medium for writing-challenged bloggers like Instapundit or Doc Searls who rarely write posts longer than two-liners.

Anyhoo, it soon became apparent that Twitter is lacking in a search box so I did a little research on Google and found a few links for you:

• Twitter Search (not bad when it’s working)
• Twittermint (a Twitter search engine and buzz tracking system)
• Twitter Search (a Google Co-op engine created by Steve Rubel)
• Twitter / Tara (a Chinese search engine)

So why am I twittering? Well I’m experimenting to see what else it’s good for besides “Good Morning. I just had my morning java and now I’m off to shave. Ouch!…”

One use that I can see for it is broadcasting short messages to everyone who is in the Bloke’s Network. Kinda like a conference call/chatroom. You can even subscribe to the feed and not miss a juicy morsel or just visit the site.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Am I the only one who finds it odd that hardcore Wordpress fanatics who snub Blogger for its alleged simplicity are soooo infatuated with Twitter?
