The End of the Road for Blog Bloke

I’ll make this short and sweet because I don’t believe in long goodbyes. It’s been a great run but sooner or later all good things must come to an end.
Yes it’s true. It’s the end of the line for Blog Bloke. Further to my rant the other day about the proliferation of social network sites hijacking the blogosphere, I have seen the writing on the wall and decided it’s time to pack it in. It’s only a matter of time before the inevitable happens so I may as well go out while I’m on top instead of dying a slow death with a whimper.
It’s not just about the social networks either. I’m sick and fed up with the sploggers ripping off my content. So you guys will have to find another source to steal your material because this lunchwagon is now closed.
This is sad day for me as I’ve given so much of my time to the pursuit of all things blogging but I reckon it’s time for me to move on. So as of midnight this evening I will no longer be a blogger. If any of you want to leave a comment here I will be happy to reply but I will not be writing any more posts.
I will not delete this blog and it will remain as a testament to my body of work which I believe will stand the test of time. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished and I hope it will remain a valued resource for years to come.
I wish to thank all of my readers for the joy that you have given me by allowing me into your computer screen. If along the way I have in some small way entertained and enlightened then my mission has been accomplished.
I will miss you. Cheers!

If it weren’t for the Blog Bloke, I’d have no blog. You were instrumental in helping me get my blog up and running. You even put the translator on my blog for me. I will surely miss your insightful posts but I totally understand. I am done, too.
Keep in touch. Who knows, maybe you will blog about something else, like your life. I’d enjoy reading that as well.

I’ve followed the Bloke for awhile. I think this is ‘no joke’.
