Technorati Turns 3: Can U Digg it?

came out with a major upgrade that includes a new design, more Favorites features, an updated Popular section, a revamped Blog Directory, changes to Blog Profiles and an alleged “major speed and accuracy improvements in core search”.

Speaking of blog profiles, good luck trying to find a quick way to edit your blog configuration. It will take some digging around to find it.

And speaking of digg, the “discover” section is looking very familiar, albeit a little less democratic. But they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Apparently it shows the hottest topics in entertainment, life, sports, business, tech etc., to make it easier discovering more relevant conversations. Okaaay.

But beneath all the ballyhoo I have one small problem. I can’t seem to “discover” my own blog in the list, or should I say the a-list.

It seems that I’ve been buried somewhere… a nice bit of self-serving coding if there ever was. I know that I’m in there because I popped up in a manual search, but good luck trying to find me listed under my categories.

I don’t know. More and more I’m getting disillusioned with Technorati. Only 3 years old and already a blogarchy unto itself (et al).

A change of strategy. Maybe I should put Sifry on my list so that I will become more “relevant”. That might help. Couldn’t hurt… could it?

forget the Christmas list. i already tried that. you need pull. half of the a-listers (like steve rubel) are clients and vice-versa. a “self serving blogarchy” for sure.
