Technorati teams up with the Associated Press

This is good news for bloggers who will get exposure and ultimately more traffic to their sites. I imagine this will work much like similar services such as the Washington Post’s “Who’s Blogging” feature. Let’s hope that Technorati gets the kinks out of its notoriously buggy indexing to make the service useful.

A press release today says and the Associated Press have teamed up to deliver up-to-the-minute posts to AP online news stories:

When readers visit an AP member Web site that uses AP Hosted Custom News, they will see a module featuring the “Top Five Most Blogged About” AP articles. This module is dynamically powered by and within it, the reader will see links to a page that guides them to recent posts about that specific AP article. Additionally, when readers click on an AP article, will deliver “Who’s About That Article,” a listing of names with the date and time recent posts were made. The new functionality will be available to the more than 440 AP member Web sites in the United States that take AP’s Hosted Custom News.

What’s Technorati exactly? I was wondering about it…but didn’t really want to google it.

Thanks for the question Serendipity. We old timers who have been around the blogosphere longer than we care to remember sometimes take for granted that our readers know (almost) as much as we do. So please accept my apologies, and rather than reinvent the wheel here is the link to Technorati that should answer your question. I’ve also put the link in the original post.

    Thanks for the heads-up. Cheers!

LOL. I bet “normal” people would know. I am just extra lost in this blogging stuff…except for the part where I post, and I am even getting to know my template…at least enough to ruin it and litter it with pictures and lists. :)

    Thank you for answers.

We’ve all been there. I know that doesn’t make it any easier but didn’t someone somewhere say that misery loves company? ;-)
