Stephen King shares his Writing Tips on Crafting a Short Story

Since blogging is a kind of short story telling I thought I would add this video for your viewing pleasure. A lot of bloggers are hopeful book authors, so watch as best selling writer Stephen King shares his tips on story writing and how many writers today are ignoring the short story before they are ready to navigate “the quagmire of the novel.”

I always say you can’t restrict the creative process with rules. Don’t decide beforehand what length your blog post will be. An idea can become a life of its own. You have to follow the idea and let it become what it may. All you can do is edit or split it into two or more posts (chapters so to speak) if it should become unwieldy.

Don’t become a slave to preconceived notions. Follow the idea.
