Social Media Helping Others | Blog Talk Radio
With Thanksgiving and Christmas season upon us it is so easy to get caught up in making our wishlist for that next iPhone or drooling over sumptuous meals and making merry. Black Friday commercials bombard us with teasers of the latest and greatest gadgets at amazing prices. TV specials will soon be upon us singing Christmas carols of joy and love.
It is all so easy to forget this is also the time of year that is hardest on those who have less and are suffering. Believe me I know. I was recently reminded that there are friends who are less fortunate and are dreading the season and slipping into deep depression. They are jobless, facing bankruptcy, losing their homes, lost loved ones … the list is endless.
Tonight Wayne Hurlbert and I have an important Blog Talk Radio Show as we discuss how Social Media can be used to help our online friends. Here is the show description:
Long time blogger Blog Bloke describes how social media has many different uses, and one of the most powerful acts of social media users is to help others. At this time of the year, Blog Bloke shares the story of a business person who faces serious financial difficulties, and suggests that social media is one tool for spreading the word to help. While not everyone may be able to give money or merchandise, the ability to share the message of hope everywhere is where the vehicle of social media can make a difference. Blog Bloke discusses the many different ways that people can help this person and others through tweets, Facebook posts, Google+ posts, blog posts, instagram photos, and more. Learn how to employ social media to change the world through helping one person at a time.
Won’t you join Wayne and I this evening Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 5 pm PST and 8 pm EST?
