“While PageRank is one of the more important signals in ranking, it is still only one of 200 signals that Google uses for ranking”. These are the words of Matt Cutts from Google as he goes on to explain what some of those other signals are. According to Matt too many bloggers are obsessed with building backlinks (are you listening comment spammers) and are forgetting about other important ranking factors.

Ranking Factors Such As:

Anchor Text,
Page Content, the URL and Title,
Headers,
Keywords,
Etc.

“The secret sauce is in the blending … so don’t get obsessed with PageRank“ .. Matt Cutts blog tips.

And one day, these folks are going to realize it and stop spouting all this nonsense about page rank, leaking page rank, needing to get more page rank by sculpting, etc.

True very true. If your not getting the header of the blog post right and keywords then don’t expect google to find you well.
