A Better Way to Search for Comments in Blogger

I recently wrote a post explaining my frustration with the fact that doesn’t come with any search functionality for comments. Well fret no more because I have a for a better and easier way to search your blog comments.

Today I was fiddling with Google’s Custom Search widget and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it does a very good of searching blog comments. Of course you could also use Google’s Blog Search but then you wouldn’t get any of these great features either:

1. If you have several blogs like I do you can include search results for all of your blogs on one page. Very nice.

2. You can brand it with your own picture or logo and there is even an option to include the search results on a specific page (but I haven’t got that working yet).

3. You can also monetise it with . Cool. This is far better than the workarounds that we discussed in my previous post, and it should also work on any blog platform besides .

Just put the widget into your sidebar or you can bookmark your very own custom search page like I did. And of course it does a very good job of searching your blog posts as well.Enjoy.

  1. Thanks for the tip on creating the custom Google blog search. I’ve been going crazy trying to figure out how to search my comments, and the custom search was the answer. Awesome!
