Scoble is Leaving Microsoft?
What this story really tells me is how a handful of bloggers have managed to leverage their high profile jobs to create an elite blogarchy ‘A-list’ for themselves and move up the corporate ladder.
Apparently Robert Scoble is leaving Microsoft to join PodcastTech.net. CEO Furrier says he is going to build an “offense” around Scoble.
“He’s his own brand, and we’ll invest in him,” Furrier said. Part of the investment is giving Scoble a significant equity stake of the PodTech.net, which received a $5.5 million round of funding in March. Furrier and employees still own more than 50 percent of the startup.
Steve Ruble is another so-called a-lister who recently managed to get himself a VP position at a competitor company.
You can look for more of this trend as the ‘creme’ of the blogosphere continue to successfully exploit blogging.
A more light-hearted look at this story can be read at the daily FISK.

You nailed it Bloke. These a-listers don’t blog for the joy of it. It’s all about the money, notoriety and padding their resumes.
