I didn’t know Pete Townshend of ‘the Who’ fame has a blog.

He is posting his novel ‘The Boy Who Heard Music’ chapter by chapter on his site:

Name:Pete Townshend

Location:London, United Kingdom

What is well known is that I’m a rock star. You are not worthy etc. In fact you are worthy. And so am I. We deserve each other.

    4. A long time ago,in the mid 70’s,a girlfriend of mine had these 2 records in the basement which her older brothers had left there.I didn’t know anything about THE WHO.I went home and played TOMMY and A QUICK ONE(HAPPY JACK)…My life was changed forever…This band became the love of my life;call this pop or rock’n'roll;what a voice!,what a guitarist!,what a baseman!what a drummer! and what great songs! And so, what do you think,I learned to play guitar.

In the early 90’s,I just bought this video;25 years. My young nephew and his bunch of friends came home,WATER was playing…What a solo!…A great moment in the history of the world! They were fascinated. They were calling this “punk rock”.

One day of july 1997,I went to see THE WHO live, playing QUADROPHENIA in its entity;the best record in the history of the world! The first hour of the concert,I haven’t seen anything,I was crying,my eyes were filled with WATER and I was “goosefleshed”.

Thank you Pete,Roger,John and Keith, you should be proud of the music you have done.

    5. What’s really surprising is I wrote this post almost 3 years ago and just recently I’ve been getting a lot of traffic to this post. I wonder what has sparked the sudden interest?

My favourite Who album is Tommy and especially Pinball Wizard and Magic Bus and … oh what the heck, I like it all.

      Thanks for dropping by Yves.

    6. Dear author,

You seem to be a very dedicated person,so,I hate to break it to you but MAGIC BUS is not on the TOMMY album.Sure,PINBALL WIZARD is a wonderful song, sounds like nothing else but my favorite on this record is SENSATION.

Here in Quebec,it is the middle of the night and I am playing I AM SECURE on my good old takamine…LONG LIVE ROCK!
