On Becoming a News Aggregator

Back to the Future with Steve Rubel:

Today Steve tells us that branded news aggregators are the way of the future. I can’t argue with his logic coming from a business PR point of view, but in a sense isn’t that what bloggers are already doing?

Albeit it is done manually, but do we not already search, synthesize and distribute the news according to our own particular and interests? Bloggers are in fact news aggregators of their own making.

But if automation is your thing, as we speak there is technology already available that will automatically process RSS feeds and convert it into content via or javascripts, making blogs into virtual news aggregators.

So although I agree with Steve this is a trend that will become more prevalent in the future… the future is in fact already here.
