Ok, Enough Already!

I’ve put away the sander, used up every drop of paint I had, cleaned the yard and my back is killing me. A busy little blogger I have been smoothing over the rough edges, rounding off corners, adding a splash of color here and there, getting rid of clutter and making a gazillion tweaks along the way. Whew!

I’m talking of course about the site and it looks like I’m pretty much finished with it so serious blogging should resume again shortly. There are still a few minor things left - some that I can do myself and some are bugs that still need fixing by the Blogger people.

After spending the past few weeks mucking around with the code, (I did all the work myself of course which explains the sporadic blogging) I think I’ve earned the right to make a few comments about my opus:

1. I’ve learned enough of the New Blogger code that I believe I can say with some certainty and boldness that I now have it down pat (knock on wood).

2. I had to brush up on some old coding skills that I’d forgotten (if you don’t use it you lose it) and I learned a few new ones along the way.

3. I’m impressed with the power that has been built into the New Blogger and I firmly believe that if more people will lend a hand to developing widgets (plugins) it could be a contender with WordPress.

4. What I wanted was a site that is feature rich, a little different looking, funky and interesting, but also uncluttered and elegant, easy to navigate and fun to use. That was a tall order but I think (and hope) I accomplished my goal.

I’m feeling pretty good about it and what makes it even sweeter is I’ve added a bunch of new subscriptions to my newsfeed this week without even posting much. So many thanks to everyone for supporting the Bloke.
