No more Porn for Google Base

A glitch that turned Google’s new personal listings service, Google Base, into a virtual red-light district has been fixed.

“Yesterday evening, we became aware of a problem with the Google Base SafeSearch feature and we acted quickly to resolve the issue”. Google admitted to a filter feature that failed for “some period of time”.

The new service allows people to post “all types of online and offline information and images” that will be searchable on Google Base, and depending on their relevance may be also searchable on Google Search, Froogle and Google Local.
