More Technorati Tips for Bloggers

By Blog Bloke February 22nd, 2006 Buzz thisBuzz it Share this on Facebook

In part two of Technorati’s State of the Blogosphere, Dave Sifry tells us that we should be finding our niche and aim for “The Magic Middle.” Sifry says there is a reachable middle ground where topic specialization, a modest number of inbound links and with a little help from some new features we can become successful bloggers.

One of those new features is an “Explore” section that allows searchers to browse various topics and blogs that are posting about those topics. This feature is unique in that the list is generated by which blogs authoritative bloggers are linking to. I’ve been playing around with it and find it useful looking for posts in my particular niche - i.e. blogging.

Another feature that is called “Filter By Authority” allows searchers to narrow search results based on how many links there are to a blog post.

Blog Tip: for the widest range of posts turn it down to “0″. Part 1.
