MI6 Recruiting Spies in Cyberspace

Don Adams aka Maxwell Smart

Maxwell Smart approved:

WOULD YOU BELIEVE the British intelligence agency MI6, (which till now recruited its spies secretly), has gone public by posting job openings on its website in a bid to attract greater numbers of applicants in the wake of the 7/7 London bombings.

It tells the would-be spies: “Whether you feel that your strengths could lead you towards operations, intelligence analysis, management, data handling or security, whether you have the skills to design high-tech gadgets or to deploy them in a hostile environment SIS may have the career for you.”

They justified it by saying “more people are disposed to helping us. That’s the reason to get into the public domain how they might apply. Talent spotting by invitation gave us only a limited pool in which to fish.

I think it is more a matter of the government reaching out to minority communities that have been otherwise disenfranchised.
