No such thing as Freedom of Speech in Malaysia
A 34-year-old laboratory technician posted an alleged ‘offensive’ remark about Islam Hadhari on a local weblog and is likely to be charged under the Criminal Procedure Code or the Multimedia Act.
Early this month a user had posted a comment on Jeff Ooi’s weblog, saying it was unacceptable to compare Islam Hadhari and money politics to “water and oil” because water and oil are suci (untainted) things.
The person, who identified himself as “Anwar”, replied by stating Islam Hadhari and money politics were like “shit and urine”. More at Malaysia…
