Is the U.S. Bi-Polar?

February 23rd, 2007 by Blog Bloke | 6 Comments

Here I go breaking rule #9 of my 10 rules of blogging. But I couldn’t resist the temptation when I heard today Lou Dobbs making an interesting comment. He said:

“Both parties are on opposite sides of the same bird. And we know who’s getting the bird.”

So it got me thinking about something that I’ve always wondered. And that is — would not the U.S. be better off with a 3 major party political system like Canada has? Wouldn’t that give a voice to middle-of-the-road voters instead of two extremist parties wagging their tail at opposite ends of the pole? Or would that make too much sense (or perhaps none at all).

I was just wondering. What do you think?

  1. That would make too much sense. Shame on you for even thinking of it.

  2. I think 3 parties is exactly what we need. Right now all that we have is just 2 groups of fanatics to choose from. It’s about time the normal majority had representation too.

  3. Yes, 3 would be better than 2. But, I would imagine a lot of people are getting tired of “Party” politics as a whole.

And Jill is right, the normal majority is getting ignored.

If you say you are a Democrat, then you are labeled a left wing fanatic who wants to waive all morals and let the people run crazy.

If you say you are a Republican than you are labeled a right wing religious fanatic who has no clue what is really going on in the world.

    Great choices.

IMHO, we need options from both.

  6. That’s odd. It just happened to me too. I tried to leave a comment for you Paula and it didn’t show up either! Hmm. I guess the New Blogger still has some kinks to work out.

What I suggest is copy your comment to the clipboard first before hitting the publish button just in case it happens again. So please try again Paula.
