Internet Psycho Stalkers from Cyberspace
Sounds more like a B-rated space movie doesn’t it. I came across a couple of articles about internet safety for kids. Some of the ideas they mention include monitoring your kid’s email and chat conversations.
One method that I use is I am the master administrator for the family router. I use email monitoring software like spamkiller that allows me to read mail for all the household computers right on the ISP server.
Before downloading anything I can delete suspicious emails even before the kids know about it. That is a necessary measure even if only for the threat of viruses or trojans, let alone predators.
Educating your kids is the first step, but remember that kids will be kids and you can’t expect them to always do the right thing. Make certain you know all their passwords, and if they won’t give it to you remove their computer privileges. Call their friend’s parents and tell them to not let your kid use their computer either.
You might also consider getting key logger and parental control software if you suspect they are not being honest with you. Most routers even come with web filtering software built-in. Check your manufacturer for more information.
Whatever it takes. The bottom line is the internet can be dangerous place, and if we love our kids we must act responsibly and take whatever measures necessary to protect them from online predators.

If we are going to give our kids access to the internet then we must also make certain it is a safe environment.
Yep - I would agree with that.. Thanks for the line.
