I’ll be taking my 11 year old daughter out trick or treating tonight. How about you?
Our neighbour who also has an 11 year old girl is letting her child out on her own. She says “oh, she’s old enough now“.
I think that’s crazy. In this day and age with lunatics abducting children from under our noses, I’m taking my daughter out regardless if she likes it or not.

Bloke, My husband and I just got back from swinging through my old childhood neighborhood during their trick-or-treat night. It brought back a flood of great memories, going house to house for treats. There were a million kids out and it was fun just watching them flit about in their costumes with their bulging treat bags. He asked me if I wanted to jump out of the car and go for some treats myself. I almost did! Have fun

I wish I could take mine to my childhood neighbourhood but that’s 2,000 miles away.
I count it as a privilege to take my child out, and like you say it’s also fun. I think people like my neighbour are just lazy and couldn’t be bothered to take their kids out.
It’s their loss.

I wish I could persuade my kids to enjoy Halloween more… My eleven year old son thinks he’s too old to go trick or treating (not that he’d be out alone in our neighborhood!), while my daughter is scared of anyone in fancy dress!
So we just spent the night watching spooky movies and carving pumpkins. Happy Halloween Blog Bloke, hope you had as much fun as your daughter

Happy Halloween Amanda.
I just got back and what a disappointment. Most of the humbugs, er I mean homes weren’t giving out candy and my daughter is feeling sick. There were almost no other kids in sight and it’s raining so we came home early.
Bummer! Let’s see if there’s any spooky movies on.

I had a report due this morning so I spent the whole night giving it the finishing touches - while enjoying a chocolate Gelato all to my self !
Went to bed at 4 AM woke up at 7 AM
Discovered my fly was open at 10 AM and that answered my question to why I was getting looks on the bus at 8 AM !
