Father’s Day Blues
This is supposed to be a happy day for us Dads but NOT so much for Blog Bloke this year. You see, two days ago the love of my life left overseas to visit her ailing Mother along with the apple of my eye, my 12 year old daughter.
Not only is my daughter missing Father’s Day with the old man but I also missed her recent birthday. They will be on the opposite side of the world for the next 7 weeks while I’m left here at home all by my lonesome.
This is the first time that we have ever been separated. SIGH!
I have to admit that I’m finding it difficult to not feel (too) sorry for myself because I miss them soooooooo much.
Anyhow, I’m sure the day will be a blessed one for all my Blokesters out there so please share your story with me and maybe you can help me take my mind off my Father’s Day blues.

So sorry you are spending Fathers Day alone.
This is my first official Fathers Day this year. Last year we Adopted our two kids. So this year is my first real Dad day.

Hey Bloke ! Sorry about your dilemma ! Did you call your Daughter and talk to her today ?
My dad lives half way round the world. He won’t understand if I wished him a happy father’s day. But if he knew what it was - he’d have my ear instead !

I call my daughter every day. I promised her since she was small that I would tell her I love her every day no matter what, and I intend to keep that promise.
Call your Dad and tell him you love him. Some day he will be gone and then it will be too late.

And with email, IM, and Skype, we’re all only a click away, right? I know it’s not the same, but at least you have an abundance of other ways to stay in contact. Next best thing?
We’ll be thinking of you!
