The Flu Bug has Arrived so Blogging will be Haphazard

By Blog Bloke February 2nd, 2007 | 5 Comments Buzz thisBuzz it Share this on Facebook

Crikey, the Bloke has come down with a wicked dose of the flu so I’m hoping to be sleeping more than blogging over the weekend. But the strange thing is I can’t seem to sleep more than a few hours at a time, so if I should be blogging at odd hours of the night you will know why.

Which reminds of another benefit of blogging that I never thought of before. At least I got something else to do besides lying on the sofa watching TV and moaning woe is me. And I can still have a relationship with my blog buddies who (unlike my family) don’t have to quarantine me.

By the way has anybody tried Cold FX? Does it really work? Before I shell out my hard earned bucks I’d be interested to know if anybody else has had experience with this extremely expensive formula.

See you on the other side! Ahhhhhhhhh

    1. I’ve never tried the product you mentioned. I usually take “Emergen C” on a regualr basis, and extra if I feel that I am coming down with something. I’ve also been taking L-Glutamine, and haven’t gotten sick for a long time.
I must let you know that I’m not suggesting that you take these, just wated to pass along what works for me.
      Good luck,
      Coop

    2. What works for me when the first symptoms hit is Ocillocoxinum, a homeopathic remedy. Usually does the trick, or if I do get sick — very rarely — it’s milder. Keep repeating: this too shall pass while drinking lots of liquids, including chicken soup.

    3. May sound harsh, but I have a cold cure that works every time…raw garlic. Not the juice, not the tablets, not the powder - just raw cloves of garlic. I take between 4-6 cloves, press them in a garlic press to release the alicin (incredible studies about its properties), mix in 2-3 TBSP of yogurt (to coat the your throat when swallowing) and eat immediately. I do this 3x per day until I’m better. And I’m never ill more than 1-2 days. Sure, I smell for a couple of days, but my wife and kids would much rather me be healthy.

Lots of friend have tried it and while it’s a strong remedy, it’s worked for all of them.

      Get better soon.

    4. Wow, thanks so much for the ideas everyone. I’m happy so say that I actually slept 8 hours last night which is rare for me thanks to good ole NeoCitran. I’ll be sure to check out your suggestions when I have the strength to get out of the house and do some shopping. Right now it’s taking all my strength just to shuffle my butt from the bed over to the ‘puter and back again.

    5. I’ve used Cold-fX before. My coworkers swear by it, so I always have a bottle of it on my desk. If you take it throughout the winter season, you’re much less likely to get a cold, IMO.
