Blog Rivalry

So True

Of course we would all like to believe that we’re above this sort of thing (the shrinks call it denial).

You already know about some of my online scraps so I was wondering … do you have any blog rivalry stories of your own to share?

This is your chance to show some of that blogging transparency that everyone talks about.

Come on, tell the truth. Confession is good for your soul. :-)

    1. Now this is funny. My plagiarizing friend from senghooi.com just wrote the following comment 3 times, faking my name and Mushfiqur Rahman’s:

“I guess all Malaysian/Chinese are same - they pirate stuff and feed off other’s creativities!”

He also wrote this comment on a different post:

“I have 10 reason to dont like you. BlokBlok.”

He can’t even spell either. So how do I know it’s him? Let’s just say I don’t want to give away my secrets but I can prove it if I have to.

In case you forgot he’s the guy who continues to steal content from this blog. I guess he’s trying to play off Dennis Edell against Mushfiqur again.

Some people have no shame. He not only breaks copyright law but now he is faking comments with false pseudonyms to cause trouble on this site.

This guy is from Malaysia (Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and coincidentally my wife is visiting there right now. I also have his registered address and maybe I should ask her to look him up. Better still maybe I should just pass the information on to the authorities.

He seems to be using a computer in Australia at the moment but he might be just routing through there. I wouldn’t doubt if he’s hijacked someone else’s computer and piggybacking off their broadband (they call them trojans). He fits the profile.

Anyhow thanks for proving my point bud and I’m keeping a copy of all your comments. Watch your back ’cause the cops are coming. See you in court.

Hey Bloke, get this. He pulled down his blog. Your wife must have done a wonderful job. ;-)

Now he is trying to sell .co.cc domains for 200 bucks a pop! People, don’t buy them! .CO.CC domains are FREE. You can grab your free domain name from www.co.cc

Ha! You’re right. Guess my wife got the heat on him after all. So he’s now hawking domains for $200 US. What a deal. He must have the same customers that Darren Rowse has buying up his book full of free stuff from the web ;-). Which only proves there’s a sucker born every minute.

Why don’t you convert all your posts from this blog, turn it into a crappy book and sell it to your readers for a ridiculous price? Oh wait, it’s already been done by someone ………. Heh.

I’m not saying I’d tell ya, just that it would be different ;)

    3. I’d take it as flattery if someone felt rivalry with me, and I don’t think Blog-Blond has advanced that far yet. :-) And thus far, I’ve not had any frenemies bugging me….knock on wood and spinning in a circle three times while crossing my fingers…

That would be great. I have some stuff scraped, but I am not sure how to get the other websites to stop. At least they link back to my site.

    5. That picture made me laugh hard. :-) Of course I have blog rivalry, my blog is the first video games blog in my country, Bangladesh.

Well, after some time of fame a couple of copycats sprung up. I’m not mentioning their names, but what they did was highly unethical. They tried to defame my blog and rip articles from my archives as if they were their own. And I remember laughing so hard when I read the following lines in their About page: “So don’t be scammed by all those local wanna be blogs. They are not even in our league.”

That’s why they still have only 5 subscribers (2 of them are the owners) and I get the same visitors in one day that they ever received in their lifetime. Lolz

Be thankful you have only 2 copycats to worry about. I have literally hundreds and more keep cropping up every day :-)
