FCC wants to Control Everything!
The Blogosphere has been abuzz over a posting by law professor Susan Crawford who wrote the Federal Communications Commission is over-asserting its authority over electronic communications.
She refers to a legal brief the FCC filed this month limiting how consumers will be able to use digital television signals. The so-called “broadcast flag” is designed to head off copying and Internet distribution of digital programs, which the government believes will kill digital TV before it takes off. The government wants consumers to convert to digital so it can sell the analog frequencies now being used by TV broadcasters.
Crawford asserts the FCC is using the broadcast flag issue to expand its ever increasing powers over the ‘Net.

How long will it be before these content companies cut off our ears and gouge out our eyes to keep us from copying their stuff? Since they will never be able to plug the analog hole, they should just adapt their business model instead of fighting it.
