Don’t use Blogger’s new RSS Newsfeed (yet)
Some of you may have noticed that Google’s Blogger has sneaked in (or snuk, whatever) an undocumented RSS newsfeed for your Blogger blog. Since RSS is the standard format I thought I would switch over and reburn my Feedburner newsfeeds using my blog’s RSS feed.
Big mistake. Today I noticed that my feeds have not been properly updated.
I spent a lot of frustrating time perusing Feedburner’s notices and faqs to see if there was a problem. Yes, I was still pinging weblogs.com when I posted so what could it possibly be?
Exasperated, I decided to sneak a peek at my raw RSS XML feed and that is when I discovered my blog has not been properly updated.
For some reason a few days of posts were completely missing from the RSS feed. Crikey! Whereas a quick look at my Atom feed showed that it was working perfectly.
Needless to say I’ve switched my feeds back over to Atom again. I guess RSS is still in beta for Blogger, so my advice is to stick with Atom (at least for now).
Ain’t ‘puters fun?
