Do You Like My Video Widget
In case you don’t know I installed a video widget on the far right sidebar some time ago. It features blog, technology and humour related videos for your viewing pleasure.
I was wondering if anyone uses it and does it serve any purpose? The reason I ask is it delays the loading of this page, and if nobody uses it I may as well remove it.
So if nobody tells me otherwise I shall be removing it shortly.
What now? If you like this post:

Truthfully? I come here to see what you’ve written. If you feature a video, I watch it. Otherwise, there’s just so much time I can spend looking at everything without going bonkers on my computer. The Internet has a way of enveloping one’s life, huh?
If it slows you down, take it off.
Just one ole gal’s opinion.
My blog is loading slower and I don’t know why. Maybe my You-tube links? If so, they’re outta there.
Your blog loads pretty fast now compared to some of the others.

Thanks Tica. Any widgets you install use scripts that will slow down your blog. Put a few of them on your blog and very quickly the delay time will add up.
Fast loading time of your blog is crucial, so if it is slow you are going to have to get medieval and prune those widgets.

So, it’s not the U-tube posts?
I have added some new widgets.
One is How much my blog is worth?
I don’t advertise anything on my blog so how is it worth anything?
They say it’s over $6,000. Guess I’ll cut that one for sure.

I do like your video widget. Some interesting stuff there but VERY time consuming. I changed my mind. I vote keep it. Your blog loads fast.

I doubt if your YouTube posts are the problem because it should only eat resources when it is running.
Try removing one widget at a time and check the loading time. Stuff like what your blog is worth is useless and I would definitely get rid of that one.
I also notice that you have way too many posts showing up on your main page. Go into your dashboard under “Settings” and “Formatting”, and where it says “Show” change the settings to for example “7 Posts”.
That should make a huge difference in our blog’s loading time.

that’s the trick I bet. Thanks!
