China Enlists Microsoft to Censor Bloggers
Just another reason why you won’t see me over at MSN Spaces. The Redmond behemoth claims ‘unique elements’ contributed to its decision to take down a Chinese journalist’s blog.
Microsoft’s own blogger Robert Scoble initially said that he was “depressed” by the news but then he backpedaled toeing the company line.
Indeed Robert, you are making “excuses”. This isn’t the first time Bill Gates and company have been caught capitulating to the Chinese, and probably won’t be the last either.
Hey Bill! Don’t you have enough money yet? Or is 50 billion or so not enough to make a stand on principle? Oh yeah, I forgot… it’s not about the money - it’s the power that goes with it.
If it were up to me I’d pull the plug on the entire country (not just bloggers), and any other rogue government that continues to repress individual freedoms. As long as we still control the Net let’s use it for the benefit of all mankind and not just for profits and corporate greed.

That’s why I don’t read Microsoft employee blogs. Gates is a power freak. A super freak y’all.
