Cheap RAM is No Excuse for Bad Programming

One of the main reasons why I don’t use Firefox as my primary browser is because it’s a memory hog. It has a bad memory leak and if you don’t believe me just open task manager and take a look for yourself. So instead I use Maxthon which is an amazing competitive product. It’s light on the resources and has a plethora of plugins that make it similar in many respects to Firefox. The only drawback for some would be that it’s a shell based on the IE engine.

Recently however it has been crashing on me so I decided to upgrade to the newest version 2. I must say it’s a beautiful product and well worth looking at, but it’s another resource pig as bad as Firefox if not worse.

So my rant is this… just because newer RAM is cheap these days it is no excuse for bad programming. So get with the program people and trim the fat off these bloated pigs.

Not everyone out there has the latest speed demon computer, and with the cost for older RAM being at a premium these days it’s just not a viable option.

Rant over :-)
