CAPTCHA / Navbar: An Opportunity for Mischief?
Where’s the Accountability?
This is an update to my previous post about Blogger’s CAPTCHA unfairly black listing my blogs as spam.
I just received this canned message from Blogger:
“Hello,
Your blog has been reviewed, verified, and whitelisted so that it will no longer appear as potential spam. If you sign out of Blogger and sign back in again, you should be able to post as normal.
Thanks for your patience, and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Sincerely,
Blogger Support”
I did as instructed, and low and behold I’m no longer black listed. Hurray!
It’s good to see they used common sense and put into place an appeal process for unfairly CAPTCHA’d blogs such as myself. And it actually works!
But it wasn’t long before my cynical mind started a-thinking about it. What if I was the victim of some unscrupulous low-life that had flagged me on Blogger’s new button found in the top right-hand corner of the Navbar?
An opportunity for a little mischief - yes? Let’s hope some accountability will be put into place by Blogger to make certain nonsense like this doesn’t happen.

I agree. It’s not enough to just make a fix. They need a deterrent.
