Calling Bullshit on Internet Marketers

By February 4th, 2013 5 Comments   Share

Sounds a little familiar doesn’t it? It’s gratifying to see that someone else is finally picking up the ball.

It isn’t just social media either. Bloggers invented the scam and took their bad habits over to the social networks.

Same rules, different tools. (Pun intended.)

Check this out:

Dave Kerpen cheated his way onto The New York Times Best Sellers list, told people he accomplished this using “social media” and got caught lying about it publicly. If you read “Social Media Is Bullshit” and wonder if there really are social media marketers like the ones I describe in the book, Dave Kerpen proves they exist.

Now watch the video and read the rest of the story.

  1. Enjoying the content on your blog… Disappointed in what seems to be common practice in social media… dissapointed in the fraud, fake, dishonesty… but also inspired by some amazing movers and shakers…Just takes time to feel ones way through- easy for frauds to hide behind a screen, then attack when called out or questioned… same irt

    Hi Christelle.

I have been attacked by these frauds over a decade for calling them out. Probably the best place to start is my ethics articles. You can start reading here http://www.blogbloke.com/category/blog-ethics-tips/

BS is unfortunately commonplace and many of the so-called “influencers” out there are also the biggest blowhards. It is a minefield for sure but there are a few markers they all have on common that after awhile it becomes easier to weed them out.

Thank you for dropping by and leaving a comment. Please drop by again soon.
