Blogging Live from the ER

Well, almost live that is. The other night I was suffering from pain that was bad enough to warrant a trip to the local hospital. After sitting for an hour or so in the waiting room, and then another couple of hours laying on an uncomfortable cot, a Dr. finally looked in on me around 4am.

Naturally I got a female Dr. (she was the only one on call) who proceeded to grab my genitalia and other unmentionables (and in varying positions), poking her fingers into places where even the sun don’t want to shine. (I guess I’ll have to visit more often ;-).

The pain eventually subsided and the bottom line is it seems that I either have a hernia or my old nemesis Mr. kidney stone has come back to haunt me (or perhaps both). So I will have to go for a CT scan and an ultrasound next week.

The worst part of the episode was suffering from severe withdrawal from my ‘puter and an internet connection. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do to cure that. I’m really looking forward to when our fair city gets free WIFI.

Because of this illness I suffer from bouts of pain and fatigue, so posting might not be up to my usual standards but I will do the best I can.

Thanks for the best wishes everyone. It’s good to be back in the saddle again. There’s no other place that I’d rather be.
