Blogger Beta Video

There’s nothing much new here but it’s a good overview of the Blogger Beta features.

An interesting point was they admit that their support sucks — i.e. they have a “small support team“. (So what else is new)?

Considering how deep Google’s pockets are, this only reaffirms my suspicions that it views Blogger as just an Adsense cash-cow, and that they are not interested in making it a trend-setting blog platform like they are capable of.

For all of their trumpeting over Blogger Beta, it is still only playing catch-up to the other blog platforms out there. Shame on you Google.

The only redeeming factor in all of this is that Blogger is customizable, and in fact they seem to encourage hacking their code.

However, they should be building these features into Blogger instead of relying on clever coders to do the work for them. (Perhaps they should put us on the payroll).

Apparently they are planning to offer “enclosures for uploading videos straight to a blog” some time in the future, but still no word yet on the Bloke’s wish list. Very disappointing.
