Blog Rewards for All my Blokesters
I’m always thinking of ways how I can promote more community on this blog and reward my fellow Blokesters who help to make Blog Bloke dot com a happening place. One of the great things that I like about Wordpress is it has a plethora of plugins that can make this happen.
I’m a firm believer that you reap what you sew. You receive according to how much you give. The same goes for the blogosphere because linking is what it’s all about.
Links provide the fuel that search engines thrive on. It’s what connects us all together and helps to improve our pagerank and online presence. So I came up with a couple of ideas that I hope you will take to heart and do the same with your own blogs.
Listen up Blokesters. This is what Blog Bloke is doing for you:
1. I’ve installed a “Top Commenters” (i.e. the Blokester Roll) plugin that not only lists the blogger’s name, but it also (when it works properly) makes a link back to your blog.
2. I’ve also installed a “Recent Comments” widget that makes a link back to the commenter’s blog.
3. Anyone who writes a post about the Bloke will get an honourable mention back at ya and an automatic membership in the Blokester Network.
4. Everyone who links to me will get a backlink from Blog Bloke and an automatic membership in the Blokester Network.
5. Everyone who links to me and puts a Blokester Button on their blog will get an automatic membership in the Blokester Network and be on my very special Blokester list.
Is that cool or what? That’s what I call reciprocal blogging — Blog Bloke style. On your mark, get ready, set, go…
UPDATE: I fixed the “Top Commenters” plugin. Woohoo! Now everyone gets a link!

Sounds like a party to me, a blog party.
I put one of those rad buttons up on my blog. I also installed the top commenter’s. I like how it doesn’t count me.
I also linked to you in my post explaining how I dumped blogger with the help of this blog.
Thank you Bloke and Jaffer

Curtis I tried commenting on your blog but I don’t see any numbers to type in order to pass my comment as not-spam !
I love your new blog already - especially the shade of green here and there - subtle yet beautiful !
Congratulations !

Thank you Curtis. You’re the first that I know of who’s used the “Blokesters RULE” button. Your blog looks clean and the banner certainly is gorgeous looking. Very appropriate for your theme. Well done!
Which version of the Top Commenters plugin are you using? The original or one of the edited versions?

@ Jaffer Ok must be that darned js spam block. I tried using the build in spam guard but it cannot connect with the site. There is another spamguard that looks promising.
@ Blog Bloke Thank you! I am using the first one I saw, I guess the latest version.
And thanks for visiting my blog.

One of the gifts that you give to your readers already is to upset their day!
I happened upon your blog in a way that I happen across a few blogs (surfing around) and discovering new sites.
I entered about a hour ago and I find myself still here. I have spent more than my alloted time on your site and now can not finish all I needed to do today.
I have to force myself to leave now, but have bookmarked you, so i know I will be returning and probably will get stuck for another hour or so.
This upsets me.
Thanks for tying up my day.

Thanks for the newbies steps. That is helpful. I have a question, as a newbies, how do you build credibility in the niche? I assume we need to build credibility to build the list?
[

@senuke .. you build credibility by demonstrating you have superior knowledge in your chosen niche. And you do that by writing lots of (original) posts that are niche-related.
