Positioning Adsense Ads within Posts

Samantha asks the Bloke:

Hey Bloke,

Wanted to know how you get your Google ads to appear on the right when you click on a post title. You have Google ads on the top of your main page, then when you click on a post title they appear to the right. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Samantha

Well Samantha, after reading your email again I think I found the solution for you.

First of all, let me explain the Google Adsense verts that you refer to are actually two separate code, and not the same.

So you will need to put another set of Adsense code into your template. You will have to log into your AdSense account and create an ad that is formatted for a single 125×125 size.

After you have done that, just copy the following code into the part of your template where your post will go. (In Blogger that will be found somewhere within the and tags):

( ***put your Google Adsense code here*** )

As you can see it is the div style that determines where your ad will be placed within your post. The conditional tag (for Blogger users) makes it only show up in the post page (not the main or archive pages).

As with any coding it will take a little tinkering to get it just right. Just remember to close up the brackets when you’re pasting it into your template (and remember your AdSense code too :).

That’s it and don’t forget to put the cheque in the mail either.

Cheers!
