I can't agree with you more Bloke. I spend quite a bit of time writing those in depth reviews of sites and services and instead of being monetized for it, I would much rather see a wealth of appreciative users who actually got something out of it. Link love, comments, a digg, stumbleupon, an email saying thank you, any one of these ways could really impact the blog author in a positive way. More often then not, showing appreciation in a way that I described above can really ignite or re-ignite the passion inside of the blogger. I think I'm not alone when I say this but when you see a user or groups of users being appreciative of your work and actually getting something out of it, you begin to get this tingling sensation which is indescribable.

I recently wrote an in depth review on a new service called InviteShare InviteShare - Web 2.0 Invitation Exchange Station and lo and behold, the owner of that service actually found my site and left a comment. Then he took a banner image of my site and placed it on the front page of InviteShare as a means to show off the press that his service was getting. Boy did I get a lot of traffic from that and it's still flowing through.

That's the kind of appreciation that I think your after, right Bloke?
