Anybody Notice my New LOGO???

By Blog Bloke September 29th, 2007 | 15 Comments Buzz thisBuzz it Share this on Facebook

I stayed up all night working on it. Crikey, I haven’t even been to sleep yet! So what do you think? Was it worth the effort?

    1. Very nice. It’s both hip and professional at the same time. I was not all that keen on the green when I first saw it this morning, but since coming back this afternoon it’s grown on me.

What did you use to create it?

    2. Hi Seiche. I never liked green either until I saw it used somewhere else with the blue. The two colours seem to play very well together.

I use Photoshop Elements 2. No fancy plugins or anything. Just good old fashioned elbow grease and lots of patience.

      Thanks for the comment.

    3. BB — I like it. It looks cool. Literally. Has that clean, crisp quality.

    4. Thanks Kathy. Yours and Seiche’s comments are exactly what I was looking for. Something professional, slick and web 2.0, but also cool, hip and colorful looking. I hope I accomplished that.

    5. You absolutely accomplished your goal blog bloke. Not only its clean and cool, I see three t-shirts, sleeve in sleeve - giving a community feeling !

    6. Wow! Thanks Jaffer. That makes all the loss of sleep worth it.

I’ll let you know how much the t-shirts are. :)

    8. Thanks Curtis. I’m already thinking of another logo. It’s hard to turn off the creative juices once they’re flowing.

    9. Does anybody else think there’s too much green?

    10. I hate to be the lone voice of dissent, but… It’s a nice enough logo but rather bland. And it doesn’t seem especially representative of you or your site.

In fact, I like your avatar far better than the logo…

    11. Rob, are you referring to the word logo, the pic, or both?

    12. I am impressed by the logo - the two curves next to your initials are very clever. They are good indications that this is a blog, in that you are broadcasting your words, and they provide a reminder of your feed (they remind me of the default feed logo). I have found it hard to think of a logo that represents a blog. I think you have come up with one.

    13. Well thank you Sue. I really appreciate that.

When I read Rob’s comment above it confirmed my own feeling that there was something not quite right.

So I went back to work that night and I was inspired to make this new logo. When it was finished I just about fell off my chair. Even now I sometimes think it looks too slick :)

It all worked out very well too, because the previous logo works better on TECHBloke so I’m able to still use it too.

      A happy ending for all.

P.s.: I really like the new look of your blog. It’s much brighter and loads a lot faster now, so I will visiting back at you more often now.

      Cheers!

    14. Thanks for your comment on my blog and I am so pleased you are a visitor. I ditched so many things from the sidebar including 2 of the social networking ‘faces’ widgets which were so slow loading. I am ready to make my move over to my own domain and wordpress - just a matter of finding the time to do it.

    15. Good for you Sue. Will you be able to port your template or will you get another one?

I’m in the same position. It’s just finding the time. Maybe I should just go out and buy one like the a-listers do :)
