Bloke, you are correct. The majority of the time when a search leads me to what turns out to be a blog, the content really has nothing to do with what I'm searching for. And often it's a hodgepodge of links to other irrelevant sites.

Now that they are paying attention to the 'freshness' of contents, this is a great move in favor of blogs and bloggers.

Blog Search is indexed fast because it gets scraped from our newsfeeds. Another nice feature about blog search is we can create a custom RSS feed from our keywords.

Amanda, the blog search results on the main universal Google page is the same as the blog search results page. So you can just use the main search engine now. Less clicks = less time. Two for the price of one :)

Lee, you were probably the victim of what's known as link-baiting. Link-baiting can be a good thing so long as the content lives up to the hype of the title. But all too often the content does not live up to expectations. Which is really dumb, because the reader will not return again, and so the exploit is counter-productive over the long term.

A lot of what I tend to search for is found in blogs, so it's useful for me to search using both the main engine and the blog search engine too.

I have done a general search on Google in the past and ended up in blogs. Unfortunately, the result was usually not what I was looking for and the information on the blog was not useful for what I needed.
